I don’t play video games often, but a couple days ago I found some time to play a few rounds of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Before one of the battles, several of the players from outside the United States were talking trash to all the Americans. They wanted us to know we didn’t stand a chance and they had some other choice words about our mums. The foreigners took a strong lead, but after a strategy change we turned the tables and ended up giving them a thrashing. Afterward, they didn’t say a word and I can say that I felt a little patriotic… and geeky.

The songs of the day are all about, you guessed it, AMERICA! Two hundred and thirty five years ago today the United States declared independence from Great Britain. Look at how far we have come in so little time! Today we have a soul, a country, and a folk song of the day for you to celebrate the holiday. Happy 4th everybody!
